Fall tastes are my favorite!

The scented soiree of nutmeg and cinnamon send me into a cozy cooking frenzy. Each October I make it a point to try new recipes or put a healthy spin on old classics.

As the East Coast temperatures surfaced my apple cider candles and scarves from basement boxes … this power-packed pumpkin spice granola called my name.

Opposed to store-bought granola, DIY granola – with natural sweeteners & gluten-free oats – is a healthier alternative. Today, I share with you my latest fall mix. In celebration of the season, it includes the addition of pumpkin seeds! Whether storebought or from a freshly carved pumpkin, pumpkin seeds are full of nutrients such as zinc, magnesium, protein, and fiber. They’re also a great source of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids!

Granola is a favorite of mine because of its versatility. Grab a handful for an afternoon snack, sprinkle it on yogurt, mix it in your morning smoothie, give your oatmeal a crunch, or put it in a decorative jar to give to a friend!

And since we’re all about balance here at Your Whole Source, I’d be remiss not to mention how good it goes with a scoop of chocolate ice cream or atop baked apple!
